Hi, I'm Mitchell Slater. I grew up in Alaska, and these days my family splits the year between Florida and Alaska. That means we drive the Alaska Highway a lot.
We have made the drive with our two young kids several times, and we have crossed the country in an RV twice. Along the way I learned what I wish someone had told me: how far you can really go in a day with little ones, where the fuel gets thin, and what the border folks will ask.
I'm a dad and a follower of Jesus, and I built this site to help other families take this trip with confidence. I keep my kids' names and faces off the internet, so you will see the road here, not them.
Some of the moments I thank God for most are the long, quiet miles on that highway with my family all together in one vehicle.
